Aengus and Caer

£50.00

A4 lino print
Black ink
Irish mythology story of Aengus son of Dagda and Boann.

Aengus falls deeply in love with a maiden named Caer, whom he only knows from his dreams.
Aengus wastes away from love sickness until he learns that Caer transforms into a swan on Samhain.
On Samhain, Aengus travels to the Lake of the Dragon's Mouth and finds Caer among 150 other swans. He identifies her, and in return, the two are transformed.
Aengus and Caer transform into swans, flying together to Brú na Bóinne while their beautiful music puts all of Ireland to sleep for three days and nights.

This print makes a great wedding gift .
