I have illustrated the Cat Sith here in Lino,
A primary fear associated with the Cat Sìth was its ability to steal the souls of the recently deceased, particularly around burial times.
Samhain was a significant time for the Cat Sìth, as the veil between worlds was thinnest.
Leaving out a saucer of milk during Samhain was believed to gain the Cat Sìth's blessing for the year.
I have depicted the cat Sith bringing his saucer of milk to the the gatekeeper of the Féth fíada, (the veil)
The ogham on the standing stone spells íobairt, which means "offered sacrifice" in Irish,
The other ogham carved in the stone portrayed translates to Cat Sith.
The antler is a shape shifter emerging from the veil.
Due to the nature of the printing process there may be small variations from print to print. This is very much one reason why hand printed linocuts are special. Each is unique
All prints are signed and numbered (if a limited edition).
