Sheela na gig's are ancient stone carvings which represents the power of the female body, it's used as protection in sacred sites around Ireland and Europe.
Some suggest they promoted successful birth, with one author believing the emaciated upper half of the figure was meant to appease mother's and grandmothers who had passed on.
