Queen Maeve – a formidable and commanding figure, renowned in legend for her ability to captivate and conquer. Known as the “Wolf Queen,” she stands poised for battle, draped in a wolf pelt and bearing her spear. The wolf’s head upon her own symbolises her channelling of the power of the now-extinct Irish wolf.
Behind her, the moon rises – a heart signifying the many she has captivated, and an oak leaf representing the sacred oak, a tree deeply rooted in Irish tradition. Oak groves were once revered as places of worship in pagan times, adding a layer of mysticism to the scene.
Due to the nature of the hand-printing process, slight variations may occur from print to print. This is precisely what makes hand-printed linocuts unique and special. Each piece is individually signed, and if issued as a limited edition, numbered by me
